The University of Crete and the Medical School are excited to announce the upcoming Electromyography Summer School, which will take place from June 10 to June 13, 2025!

In collaboration with multiple academic institutions in the United States, this hybrid (in-person and via zoom) course will review the field of Electromyography (EMG) across the age spectrum and its application for the diagnosis and treatment of Neuromuscular Disorders. It will include the fundamental tenets of signal generation, technical considerations of signal acquisition, types of recordings and reporting standards.

The course will discuss both basic aspects in the field of electrodiagnostics (e.g. fundamentals of nerve conduction studies and needle EMG), as well as more advanced topics (late responses, repetitive nerve stimulation, single fiber EMG, neuromuscular ultrasound and autonomic studies), with a focus on their clinical applications.

The course will include daily small-group, hands-on workshops by international experts in the field and interactive quizzes to complement the formal lectures. There will be a welcome dinner on Tues 10 June 2025 evening and an optional excursion to the island of Spinalonga on Sat 14 June morning.

Mark your calendars for June 10 to June 13, 2025, and prepare for an enriching academic experience.
For academic inquiries, please contact the scientific coordinator of the Summer School, Professor Ioannis Karakis, at ioannis.karakis@uoc.gr
