University of Crete at NAFSA 2025 – Strengthening Global Academic Partnerships

The University of Crete participated for a second consecutive year in NAFSA 2025 held from May 27 to 30, 2025, in San Diego, California, as part of the national “Study in Greece” initiative, showcasing the excellence and innovation of Greek higher education.

The presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Aikaterini Nassika, Ambassador of Greece to the United States, underscored the importance of international academic diplomacy and supported Greece’s coordinated effort to enhance its global academic visibility.

The University of Crete was represented by:

•              Professor Maria Vamvakaki, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Lifelong Learning & Research Policy

•              Ms. Evgenia Skountaki, Deputy Head of the Welcome Office

During the exhibition, the University presented its international degree programs, cutting-edge research activities, and the diverse academic opportunities it offers to students and researchers from around the world. The University’s continued participation in NAFSA demonstrated its strategic commitment to internationalization and the development of strong academic networks worldwide.
