In collaboration with multiple academic institutions in the United States and in Europe, this hybrid (in-person and via zoom) course will review the management of drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). It will include principles and cased based scenarios of rational pharmacotherapy with traditional (1st and 2nd generation) and novel (3rd generation) antiseizure medications, non-pharmacological treatments (ketogenic diet) and workshops on various neuromodulation modalities. Empasis will be given to the basic tenets of presurgical evaluation for destructive (resections, ablations) or disconnective (corpus callosotomy, hemispherectomy) surgery, as well as to special populations (pediatric, pregnant women, elderly).
