Welcome Event for First-Year Students at the University of Crete
The University of Crete is delighted to welcome its new students for the 2026–2027 academic year, from Greece and around the world, at a special welcome event.
The event will take place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the same time on both campuses:
- Rethymno: Amphitheater D3, 12:00 p.m.
- Heraklion: “Nikos Petridis” Amphitheater, Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, 12:00 p.m.
This day marks the start of an exciting new journey for our first-year students. It’s their chance to get to know the University of Crete and its academic community up close.
The event is a celebration of connection, participation, and cultural diversity. Students from Greece and all over the world will meet, share experiences and ideas, and take their first steps into academic and student life. They’ll also get to know the university community better and pick up useful information about the services, opportunities, and activities the University offers.
After the official welcome, the celebration moves outdoors to the area around the amphitheaters, where things get more relaxed and festive. First-year students can meet each other, learn about the University’s services and opportunities, and get to know the student cultural groups and what they do. And of course, they can enjoy music and food at a big welcome party!
We invite you to celebrate the start of this new journey with us. We look forward to welcoming you into the University of Crete community and giving you the information, support, and tools you need to grow, gain new knowledge and experiences, and shape your own unique student path.
*Come and say hi to our team at the Welcome Office stand*
