The International University Fair (IUF), the largest educational event in Southeastern Europe, was held in Greece for the 13th time on March 20, 22, and 24, 2026, in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Heraklion, respectively.
The Heraklion event took place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Aquila Atlantis Hotel.
The University of Crete participated in the Heraklion fair with an exhibition booth, where institutional representatives, including the Welcome Office team, provided visitors with detailed information on undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes, as well as opportunities for academic and professional development.
During the fair, high school students, university students, and parents had the opportunity to engage directly with university representatives and explore study options in Greece and abroad.
Notably, for the first time, all three universities of Crete participated in the fair with dedicated booths and presentations, offering visitors a comprehensive overview of educational opportunities on the island and the chance to have their questions addressed in person.
The IUF aimed to provide young people with comprehensive guidance on their educational and career pathways. In this context, the event also hosted organizations specializing in career guidance and counseling services.
The seminar programme of the Heraklion fair covered a range of timely topics, including planning studies abroad, the skills required in the era of artificial intelligence, emerging career paths, effective self-presentation to employers, study programmes offered by the universities of Crete, and the career prospects associated with postgraduate studies.
Prof. Maria Vamvakaki, Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs, Lifelong Learning, and Research Policy, presented the various opportunities for studies and research in the University of Crete.
The Welcome Office team also provided information for Postgraduate Studies in the University of Crete, focusing on English- Taught programs.
